A Hunting We Will Go…

Among the things we did yesterday was take another nice walk on the beach here in Ocean City, WA. Once again, her trusty metal detector (like a rifle) on her shoulder, we set out on another metal hunting expedition in search of buried treasure.

What’s this? Beach Art? Nope…from the beach it is very difficult to identify which is the return trail. This is a unique trail marker to ensure we take the correct path back to our RV park.

Okay…now to find the buried treasure.

Bored by not finding anything, Mary decides to stop and make a sand angel.

Miles of beach and nary a soul and not a sound from the metal detector. It’s clear Lewis and Clark didn’t make it this far North!

Once again, the only find was in the remains of a beach campfire. This time is was a Sharp’s Ale can which I told Mary I thought came from England and most likely dropped by either Captain James Cook or George Vancouver whom explored these coasts many years ago. I don’t think she believed me!

Oh well, perhaps next time she will find the Mother Lode!
