Two bridges across the Colorado River

The below photo was take from the CA side of the Colorado River looking towards Yuma, AZ. The railroad bridge was originally built in1877 and changed this region dramatically. The vehicle bridge on the right was built in 1915 and is known as the Ocean to Ocean Bridge because it now allowed vehicles to be driven from the Atlantic to the Pacific without taking a ferry. It remains today a one-lane bridge and traffic is controlled with traffic lights. The Yuma Territorial Prison can be seen directly to the left of the railroad bridge.

There was no post yesterday as Mary spent the day in Quartsite, AZ. I’ll be presenting those posts soon.
