Quartermaster Depot, Yuma, AZ

Yesterday Mary and I spent an enjoyable three hours at the Quartermaster Depot. This post supplied numerous military posts throughout the Southwest. It was established in 1864 and operated only until 1877 when the arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad made the function a lot easier and more financially feasible than mule trains.

The storage warehouse is only one of a few of the original that survived until today.

Sorry but I cannot get the link to work. For complete information about this site enter Quartermaster Depot, Yuma, AZ in your Internet search box.
